This sounds like an awesome weekend. I think its time for me to finally make it down to Texas to drive. Is the rulebook somewhere on this site? I just want to make sure I meet all the tech requirements for the competition.

There is the rulebook.  You basically need a full cage with door bars to compete in the series, along with a 5 point harness that is properly installed, and of course a helmet.

We just picked up a new sponsor for the event which is really exciting.  For the competition on day two ASD Motorsports is donating 2 bad ass hydro ebrakes to our prize pool!  They are already in my hands and look amazing.  By far the nicest hydro ebrake setups I have ever played with, and I have had and used half a dozen at least.  They sent me one setup of each style, both a push and pull.  These prizes will be placed in our prize pool which already consists of some other really nice stuff.   Thank you very much ASD Motorsports!

Go over to their Facebook page and comment on the post I made telling them thank you for supporting our event please, and maybe in the future they will donate more parts!  The more people tell them thank you, the more likely they will be to donate stuff!

I am really excited for lone star bash!  I dropped my car off with Derrick for a dog box install, and to get some stuff fixed.  My s13 should be banging through a crazy tranny, lighter, and a bit more intense.  I will get some pics at some point, but I was too busy and nothing is done but parts ordering.  I guess I could post some pics of the titanium/aluminum bell housing setup and the magnesium case for the tranny, but the words sound more baller than the parts look.

On the secondary front Marty at Autocomp is helping me with my Volvo.  We are rebuilding the axle in a more reliable way, and he is going to magic some coil overs onto it with tig welding and brains.  I hope to get my cam in the v8 as well and headers.

So hopefully I will be bossing people around in tandem with two different v8 imports : )

Mustang parts that are required to make it drive are all ordered and on the way to Marty. So, finished body or not. Tandem will happen.

something to consider...

This sport needs more participation, not more build threads.

Derrick is getting my car ready for Lone Star Bash : )

I can't wait to drive, it is by far my favorite event of the year.  The first two years were crazy.

Those teeth aren't curved!  My car is getting a new dog box transmission because I was never a fan of the T56.  The tranny will have a few plusses such as being a 4 speed so I can't miss shift to 5th, and should be like 70 lbs less than the T56, hopefully it is even lighter than the SR20 tranny!

The motor got checked over and compression was happy, and so Derrick is replacing the broken motor mounts and putting it all back together.

The Accusump is getting rebuilt too, since it is a few years old.

Anyways, all in all I am excited to bring my car out, and it should be it's good old self since we will finally be fixing the stupid motor mount that was making the car drive all terrible for the last few years.  The headers would intermittently hit the header to the steering shaft and stop the car from steering, and then insta spin.

Robert Turnbow just hit me up telling me he has a new Cressida he is building for this event!  It has a cage already and serial 9 is hooking him up with everything for the suspension.  I know he wants to replace his 1j with a built 2j as well, but I doubt he will have time for that just yet.  The chassis is a slightly newer version of his old one, the 83 chassis I think they are called.
