Venom injectors
« on: April 12, 2012, 07:34:11 PM »

I have bought a set of 370cc and one was bad so I bought a set of 440cc and they are bad, so I should have just got name brand ones to start but I tryed to save a buck and now I still got to get some good ones. I'm in kinda of a hurry and low on money now so does anyone know if the Venom injectors are any good/reliable?

I'm sure Venom just puts their name on them. There are only a hanful of companies that actually make injectors. So they are probably fine. More than likely they are nippondenso or bosch anyways. Pretty much they work or they don't work as a general rule. Now they may not be perfectlt flow matched and stuff like that but niether are most factory ones or aftermarket ones so it doesn't matter that much. It mostly matter when you have a lot of money riding on they injectors as in a very expensive engine making lots of power. That's how I look at it anyways.

Perfect example. On my new engine I'll be buying some 850cc-ish secondary injectors and just having my 550CC injectors cleaned and checked at RC. The secondaries are the most important ones in my senario. The factory 550s are plenty good for the low end. I know it's not a direct comparison to your piston engine that uses the same 4? all the time but hopefully you can see what I'm getting at here.

Yeah I got ya. Its a KA-T set up. I decided to go with the MSD 50lb top feeds and a JWT top feed fuel rail. Its all new so I souldnt have this problem again, and if I do the injectors are almost half the price. I'm broke now but I feel better knowing my engine will have fuel like it should. Thanks for the help.

The Bosch style injector dynamics is pushing is what you want. They really put everything else to shame.

3-4yrs ago if you put 1000cc injectors in your car it was guaranteed to run like shit. Now we tell people to go with 1000ccs over 444s since they work better anyway.

That has more to do with the injector driver capabilities, but I agree in general that newer style injectors are far superior to the old ones in many ways.

Just to add another insight to this. Just because so and so says one ECU is better than another doesn't mean much. What components are on the board tells you everything you need to know about said capability of ECU. If you don't know or don't intend to know about transistoprs and things then it's best not to assume you know what ECU is better than another. This comment is not directed at Russell or anyone in particular. It's a good guideline to go by. Basically not everything is as simple as it would seem when comparing ECUs adn thier capabilities. Plus there's a lot of false advertisement out there, whether it be on purpose or accident.
