Nice chatting with you as well. Luck you with the oem front end. I always got lucky and someone hit me. Very sad. At least I enjoy fabricating.

Maybe he will be nice and give you a copy of his file to look at. Just don't use his maps. Thats an engine specific thing. You can get the settings for everything though and just simply type them in. Easysauce.com

Bring them on.

And yes.. you don't want to use my maps at all. My camshafts are degree'd and I run e-85. My timing up top is ridiculous not to mention the VE's of my motor will be much different than yours.

Which brings up another question... is there e-85 in texas?

Alright so it looks like Kroger Gas Stations tend to sell E-85. I assume this means it is not to hard to find around Dallas? I have spent some time on google maps in street view looking for yellow handles on gas pumps. Not much luck. lol. Tomorrow I should be continuing on the front end of my car. Welder ran out of CO2 when I tried to continue over this weekend.

I look forward to it.

The short answer is anything. Although, I have my M.S. In Mechanical Engineering and I will be working in reliability of gas fired turbines.  In the past I have done some Aero work for a couple NASA space grants, some vibration design and analysis of vibration related problems, and last but not least writing a huge program to calculate thermal transients in large multi fluid(up to 18 different fluids) heat exchanger cores. I also did a couple odds and ends that probably should have been done by an electrical engineer but I can do some light electrical as well. I'm one of those jack of all trades mechanical engineers. Definitely not a defined specialist. When I got into cars about 5 years ago I started teaching myself all about engines, tuning and VE's; then I moved on to suspension and weight balance, focusing on consistent traction while drifting.

You will notice my car is definitely not a show stopper by any means, it has hit walls, other cars have hit it, it is the Frankenstein of functionality :)

Does everybody down there run a v8?

Also, I had some time to burn and i managed to remove another 30lbs from my car yesterday, while making really cool door handles. Makes me feel accomplished after being inspired by a couple FD teams, but my way is cooler. I'll post pics later.

Seems like everyone has a V8, but there's other engines out there as well. All the typical drivetrains.

New Interior Door Release.

Just push out on the wire. Anywhere on the wire.

Cool. What material wire are you using? Got a picture of what the pros use that is similar?

It is the same material found on a handful of FD Cars. Most of them set it up to have a loop hanging that you grab and push forward as opposed to my style. You can find the wire at Home Depot (and probably Lowes too).

IIRC it is "3/32" Wire Rope" with the green plastic sleeving. It should be the only green sleeved one. Just grab some crimps and make sure you crimp those suckers really good! I use a vice and a crimp tool, Be sure to tug really hard to make sure it isn't slipping afterwards. It would be bad to get stuck in your car in the event something bad happened.

COOL! I remember seeing the original build of this car on ka-t.org. I drive the black s14 with ka24e-t. How much power is the car making these days?
