Side mount seat brackets?
« on: February 17, 2012, 07:02:30 PM »

So my seats are pretty loose.

I'm using side moing seat adapter on some sparco evo 3 seats. On the driver side the play is coming from the sliders (is that normal?). On the passenger side the slider is actually bent. Looking at getting some seat brackets to replace my oem ones. Anyone used the sparco ones?

Worth the money?

I actually just welded some supports to it. Seemed to help...the only flex I'm getting now is from the sheet metal

I still have sliders but they haven't worked wince I bought the car. It's fine for me just sucks when people drive the car.

Yeah, I wouldn't care too much about people. You are the priority. And fixed seat is cheap and consistent :)  Demon seat sucks, depending on how much it moves it is almost as bad as having a floppy shifter.

Is your seat flexing side to side?  Do you have a picture of how the rails mount in your car without the seat mounted to them? I have never seen the insides of a volvo. I think I may have some side mount brackets laying in my pile of car stuff that might fix all your problems.

It looks like your bracket bolts directly to the sheet metal floor to me. If you weld a small .5" flat bar vertically in between the seat rails it would stiffen it up significantly.

If it STILL moves... I would try and get some light square tube and weld it across underneath the car so that the studs for the seat rail bolt through them. or something along those lines.

Sode to side. No picture of it mounted without the seat. Front two mount flat on studs back two mount 90 degrees with bolts.

Unfortunately it mount to a piece of metal that is welded to the floor and this is where the car has some cancer. It's actually tons better  ow then it used to be. I'll have to get some opinions on if it still moves too much or not in June when I'm down there. Thanks for the help!
