Purposely small tracks to force super close tandem for epic crowd pleasure

I was watching this video and thinking about how cool it is to watch all the cars get super close and tuck in on each other, run after run, without people ever running away or messing up big.  This format for an occasional drift comp, not all the time mind you, could be interesting.  Even if we have tons of room for a big track with tons of speed, we could purposely limit the size and speed of the course to get the cars close, and at the same time make it safe for them to do so.  Then, as an added bonus the crowd can be even closer to the cars increasing the fun factor for them.  Another sweet part of all that would be a fun change for the drivers, as it can be super fun to get close, and with speeds below 30 for most of the course, even if there is contact, it isn't going to be anything very damaging.

What does everyone think about building a small comp course every once and awhile as more of a demo style setup?  It would be a great way for people to get training wheels on for super close tandem!

Simplex Effect:
Would be cool to see, but I am a very big fan of high speed drifts.

Ever since I drifted at MW back in 07' it was great knowing I could push these speeds (80-110mph entrances) without worry of what is involved in street drifting.

Alex33:
I like the shorter coarses better myself, im not so hot at high speed stuff, however high speed looks much cooler

Johny5:
please. do. this.

now.

also the nw has a little kart track that looks like it has the exact same end result which has turned out some pretty sweet pics

Half the people here are too concerned with winning practice to allow this to happen.

The six foot wide remark is right on the money.  After reading that and paying attention to the cars driving it was definately them going wide which made the rear car have such an easy job getting close and making everything look great.  Everyone needs to watch this video several times and pay attention to the details of what is going on like that, so you can communicated with your fellow drivers a tandem style at events to get the visual aesthetic of this video whenever you want in your driving.  Good stuff!
