ok, so for reference for the discussion... with building the chassis to spec and then factoring in the motor, suspension, electronics (gps, race radio, etc...) you can build a Trophy truck for about $150,000 and that is being modest and using entry level equipment or a Class 1 buggy for about $75k-$100k with using mid-range equipment. Now on the other hand... You can get an 8100 class truck built and going for like $60k-$75k and if you care to factor in another cheapy bro truck as a support vehicle/ pre-runner, you can get an entire 8100 setup with support vehicle for about $100k, but can be more, it is just dependent on what you are willing to spend. Lately i have been looking more into it all and im more leaning towards 8100 class just because it is a much more viable option for an entry level team and someone who is just getting into desert racing. Not to mention that you arent required to have a full tube chassis vehicle, but in fact it requires you to still have a large amount of the factory chassis in tact, just modified for strength.

Indeed I do and really have no concern with the cost anymore. I have been very fortunate lately and want to use it for a lifelong dream.

So I've been doing a lot of research lately into desert racing which has been a life long dream of mine to get into and am trying to figure out what kind of interest other people have into the desert racing world. I am considering the possibilities of a few different classes that i would want to build a rig and run in, first of which being Class 1 (pictured below)

Trophy Truck:

OR... Class 8

Here is a link for a full list of the classes, their requirements, and specifications for each class according to the BITD (Best in the Desert) rulebook:

So I guess, in a sense, this is my goodbye to everyone, but I would like to extend an invite to any of you all that I know and am friends with to come on up and hang out and go skiing/ snowboarding with me anytime. All you have to do is call and give me notice

maybe... since Rd. 3, the truck got a shift kit and a trans cooler, so you never know, but I'm sure it would've, but the good ol' truck would've made it with absolutely no problems, i can guarantee that
