General Discussion / Registering JZX chassis' in Texas
« on: December 19, 2011, 06:16:09 PM »
I have a friend who is about to move back to the states from Japan and has a pretty well set up JZX100 chaser. He's interested in shipping it here and registering it so he can drive it on the street but doesn't even know where to start. I know the guy with the blue Chaser drives his all over the place (can't remember his name... which is pretty bad because I've met him a couple of times), so I'm curious if any of you guys know how he went about it. Not sure if the process is exactly something that should be discussed openly so PM me if needed.

For sale is a driver side Buddy Club super low down side mount seat rail. I recently sold my Z and have no need of these seat rails anymore. They are still in good working order aside from a few scratches from normal wear and tear.

I'm asking $120 USD shipped obo or $100 obo picked up/dropped off local (Shreveport/Bossier)

Reply here or PM me for more details or payment info.

Meet ups / Jan. 14th TRRP standalone Drift Day
« on: December 19, 2011, 01:50:23 PM »

On Saturday January 14th we will be holding another drift day at TRRP. The reason for it being on Saturday is that we will be allowed to use the entire lot. This means faster entry speeds, more intricate course designs, and wider lanes.

ENTRY FEE:

Drivers $25
$10 per spectator (I'm sure we'll have fliers for spectators as the event date gets closer)

EVENT SCHEDULE:

Drifters arrive at 12:00
Drivers meeting and course walkthrough at 12:30
Drifting starts at 1PM
Driving for everyone until 5PM

I need all drifters to be at the drivers meeting on time so I can give everyone the run down.  Flags will be used so I need all drivers to know what they mean.

SAFETY/TECH INSPECTION:

-Must have a minimum of a DOT approved helmet, for drivers and passengers. Motorcycle helmets are acceptable. (I don't want anyone thinking a barbie bicycle helmet will pass inspection). THIS DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ANYTHING FANCY.

-Must have working seat belts (and they must be worn!!!!)

-Batteries must be secured

-Drivers seat must be secured as well as any seat a passenger will be riding in

-No constant fluid leaks

-All wheel studs and lug nuts need to be installed and secured

-ABSOLUTELY NO DRIFTING OUTSIDE OF THE DRIFT COURSE

-No hands outside of windows

-Important not to drive past your limits. We want you to push yourself and improve, but within your abilities. If we set up a third gear course it doesn't mean you have to enter in third gear. Our staffers are there to help everyone improve so just take your time and ask for tips whenever needed.

-If you spin out and knock down a wall of cones, simply exit course and allow time for everyone to go out and reset the section. No big deal. But please don't proceed to knock down even more cones lol.

EVENT LOCATION:

Thunder Road Raceway Park

5700 Thunder Road, Gilliam, LA 71029

This will be a much faster course than the last event. Fix your cars, think about new techniques you can use, whatever you need to do to prepare. Cageless tandem will be allowed for those of you who are comfortable and safe enough for it. Looking forward to another fun and care free event!

If there are any questions please feel free to ask. Hope to see you Texas guys there.

Hope this is in the right section.

Trading Post!!! / Selling my 02 Chevy Avalanche Z71 (Shreveport/Bossier)
« on: November 16, 2010, 07:40:49 PM »

Power Steering
Cruise Control
ABS (4-Wheel)
Power Windows
AM/FM Stereo

Dual Power Seats
Premium Wheels

Oversize Off-Road Tires

Mileage: approximately 183,000

I am asking $8600 obo, I am negotiable in regards to reasonable offers. This is less than blue book value for this year, mileage, and condition so please keep that in mind.

If you would like more information please email me. I am not available for the majority of the day to answer my phone but you can also leave me a message or text me at (940)-232-0068. Please call for Shawn.

This was all copied and pasted from my craigslist add. There are pics of it in there. I'll put a little bit more info on here than that post.

http://shreveport.craigslist.org/cto/2064351177.html

The truck has done me well and can def do anything you could reasonably ask a truck of this size to do. It runs strong and has absolutely no mechanical problems. The only reason I'm selling it is because I got orders to be stationed in S. Korea for a year and will probably be going to another over seas base after that. I can't afford my Z as well as my truck to be in storage while being overseas (and both to be shipped to my follow on base) so I have to get rid of one.

Trading Post!!! / Selling my 90 rx7 convertible $2700 obo
« on: February 26, 2010, 01:16:16 AM »
Making a longterm financial decision here, having two drift car's is dumb if you only have the money for one, and I'd like to get a truck. So I'm selling my FC.

1990 Mazda RX7

Factory white (don't know the specific name)

215k + miles on chassis

40k or so on the refurbished 13b done by Mazda

Clean title

Straight frame

The car runs amazingly, no hot start or cold start problems cranks up strong every time. The oil is changed at regular intervals. The clutch, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and rear brake rotors were all recently replaced. Probably not even 500 miles on them. Heater works flawlessly. Top goes up and down great.

Interior needs some work, top needs to be replaced, seats are ruined, carpet was bad when I got it and it smelled (because of the leaking top and the fact that it's a 20 year old convertible) so I removed it, body has nicks here and there. Air conditioning components were removed to make room for a mid mount intercooler. Sound deadening was removed to prep for a cage (Drew went out of business so no cage for me  :'( ). This isn't a comfortable daily driver, but it could be fairly easily, and the engine is definitely reliable enough for it. I honestly was setting it up for a track car and I have a comfortable daily so I had no intention of making it comfortable.

As far as the modifications that will come with the car. It will be sold with

Stance GR+ coilovers

a set of 17x9 +12 Work Cr Kai in bronze with a new set of tires mounted and balanced upon purchase

Mazdatrix short shifter

a welded differential

With this setup I'll sell the car for $2700 obo. As I said I'll put new tires on the CR kais when the car is sold but I'll also install a new optima battery and maybe get an alignment depending on how bad I'm low balled.

I also have a turbo setup I bought and just never got around to finishing that I will sell with the car

Haltech E6k standalone ECU

Harness to go with the Haltech

S5 TII turbo

S5 TII upper and lower intake manifolds with all block off plates installed as well as Haltech TPS

S5 TII throttle body with throttle body mod done

S5 TII exhaust manifold

unknown downpipe

FD3s fuel pump

pineapple racing dual belt alternator pulley

pineapple racing OMP block off plate

knockoff greddy bov

greddy style flange

two low imp 750cc injectors recently refurbished and flow tested (I can provide the flow chart)

two low imp 550cc injectors recently refurbished and flow tested (I can provide the flow chart)

intercooler and piping

All you need to get to have this setup working is a Haltech air temp sensor, Haltech map sensor, and a relay that is missing off of the harness. I was told that the tune that is currently on the ECU will get the car started but it would be bad to go above 3500rpm.

I'll also include some AWR aluminum subframe and differential bushings, and PBM swirl tank with this list of parts.

I'm willing to part all of this out as well but I'd much rather sell it all with the car.

There's probably a bunch of stuff I'm forgetting but it's late so I'll update whatever I remember in the morning.

I'll let all of this go with the car for $3700 obo.

Remember this is all obo. I'm negotiable. Not really looking for trades but lmk what you have in mind anyway.

Here are some pictures of the car.

Drivers / The never ending story
« on: December 26, 2009, 08:22:10 PM »
I don't know what happened to my original driver thread but it was lame anyway so I'll just make this one and hope it's better.

Had a bunch of decent cars, decent but they were pretty lame. Now I have these two new cars that aren't all that great right now either. But I'm working on it.

The Z is my daily for now. The FC is a work in progress.

Got this box of crap and some other hootenanny in hopes of making this N/A rotary crap a little more enjoyable.

E6k, stock turbo and some other stuff. I'm betting on the turbo blowing in three months or one or two events, whichever comes first. Then I'll do that BNR thing and see what happens.

Sending the car in to Drew to get a cage and some other stuff done in a few months. Then getting some knuckles made and hopefully a kit and paint. I'm torn between getting GP sports or not though. I haven't seen a good looking vert with any other kit, but unfortunately everyone with an FC vert has GP sports because of that.

We'll see what happens. I suck at driving anyway. Maybe I'll completely ruin the FC and then put the Z to full time work. Who knows.

Trading Post!!! / FC RX7: RC 750cc injectors and 550cc T2 injectors
« on: December 09, 2009, 11:49:28 PM »
I have two high imp. RC 750cc injectors and four S5 T2 high imp. injectors for sale. I just bought and received these injectors a few days ago. They all still have the o-rings installed. I was told the RC injectors were pretty much new and had only been installed and taken out, and that the 550's "were cleaned very recently by InjectorRehab. All four were flow rated at 552cc ".

(2) High imp. RC 750cc's - $120 shipped

(4) High imp. S5 TII 550cc's - $80 shipped

(2) High imp. S5 TII 550cc's - $60 shipped (I'd rather have all four gone at once)

I need low imp. injectors so throw me an offer so I can buy different injectors and get this show on the road. These are pretty damn good prices so don't try to haggle me too much.

Drifting Specific / Cage options
« on: November 07, 2009, 05:45:33 PM »
I have a FC vert and I plan on getting a cage when the new year rolls around but there are no shops local shops that build cages. I have a few ideas as how to go about this but I need advice on who to take the car to. What are some shops that you all recomend in the Dallas/FT. Worth area?

I want to keep my top functional, so I'm wondering if buying a roll bar for about 500 and having it modified with door bars and such be more cost effective than having the cage fabbed from nothing. Any advice on how to go about this?

« on: February 12, 2008, 12:23:09 PM »
As some of you may know northern california's main source of drifting (Altamont speedway) was banned from holding drift events about a year and half ago. Now they have something better, and it's called Thunder Hill Raceway park. I know this is Texas but I thought you guy's might be interested so here you go.

lolz at mondo doing pushups.

Meet ups / Shreveport/Bossier meet ups
« on: January 09, 2008, 08:07:31 PM »
Well I'm sure all of the people here from the area know about shrevecity but...... Shrevecity is kinda gay imo......... well extremely gay. I think a new place should be picked for the people who live in the area....... minus the ricers...... and the beat up ass truck guy's who come and speed in the parking lot or whatever. LOL we all pretty much know eachother any way but we should pick another place. I'm not too keen on Shrevecity...... just my opinion though.

General Discussion / Kind of like a build thread..... I guess
« on: October 12, 2007, 09:05:45 PM »
http://norcaldrift.org/index.php?showtopic=1269

This happened to me today on my way to the bank in Shreveport. It was totally unexpected and I was actually plannin on going to the event with tyler next weekend but I guess that isnt going to happen now.

If anyone can help me out with the repairs (know any good junk yards in the area, or know someone with extra AE86 parts) let me know. My e-mail is afrodriver86@yahoo.com.

I posted this on norcaldrift.org but then I realized you guy's are closer so you could probably help me out alot more than the people back in cali.

 Any info would help. Thanks.
